Abstract
The objectives of this research were to 1) to study the conditions of local wisdom administration for promoting students’ life and career skills in Non Pho Sri Wittayakom School 2) to develop local wisdom administration Model for promoting students’ life and career skills in Non Pho Sri Wittayakom School and 3) to implement and investigate the effectiveness of local wisdom administration Model for promoting students’ life and career skills in Non Pho Sri Wittayakom School by using Research and Development (R & D). The research procedures consisted of 4 phases as follows:
Phase 1 was to study of the conditions of local wisdom administration for promoting students’ life and career skills in Non Pho Sri Wittayakom School (Research: R1). The target groups of the study were 39 basic education committees and teachers in Non Pho Sri Wittayakom School, 5 best practice administrators and 5 local wisdoms.
Phase 2 was to develop local wisdom administration Model for promoting students’ life and career skills in Non Pho Sri Wittayakom School. The target groups of the study were 13 experts who brainstormed for setting the model and 9 experts who studied the effectiveness of the model.
Phase 3 was to implement local wisdom administration Model for promoting students’ life and career skills in Non Pho Sri Wittayakom School (Research : R2). The target groups of the study were totally consisted of 226 people; 15 basic education committees, 24 teachers, 222 students and 5 local wisdoms.
Phase 4 was to study the effectiveness of local wisdom administration Model for promoting students’ life and career skills in Non Pho Sri Wittayakom School (Development: D2). The target groups of the study were 9 experts who confirmedthe effectiveness of the model.
The research instruments were a checklist, an interview form and a questionnaire. The quantitative data were statistically analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation while qualitative data were analyzed with content analysis.
The results of this research revealed that (1) the conditions level of local wisdom administration for promoting students’ life and career skills in Non Pho Sri Wittayakom School as a whole was at highest that school supported teachers to use local wisdom in learning management by seminar and teacher development at 95 percent. Then, school promoted students’ life and career skill activities based on context of students and local such as anti-drug activity at 87 percent and local wisdom career was agriculture sufficiency at 82 percent respectively. (2) local wisdom administration Model for promoting students’ life and career skills in Non Pho Sri Wittayakom School was called POEC Model. There were 4 aspects; principal, objective, substance and components consisted of 1) participatory administration and 2) learning management. The effectiveness of model assessment was at highest level (=4.71,=0.51). (3) the result of model implement as follow; 1) participatory administration was wholly at highest level (=4.51,=0.52) and 2) learning management was wholly at highest level (=4.52,=0.66). And (4) according to the effectiveness of the model, the expert confirmed the appropriateness for developing continuously. Index of item objective congruence (IOC) was 1.00. The suggestion were 1) career skill should be expanded to youth and community for sustainability, 2) productivity increasing and marketing should be promoted for product standard, 3) there should be various careers, 4) there should be created network with other schools for exchanging and improving attitude toward careers for increasing income and reducing expense and 5) life developmental clinic should be opened for students.
