The objectives of this research were to: 1) study the efficiency of English reading model on task to enhance reading comprehension and analytical thinking skill for twelfth grade students 2) study the effectiveness of English reading model focusing on task by comparing pretest score and posttest score after using this model 3) study the development of analytical thinking and 4) Study the satisfaction towards the developed teaching model. The samples were the twelfth grade students in class m. 6/4 amounted 36 who study English in semester 2 of 2018. The instruments were pretest and posttest reading comprehension test and questionnaire. The data were analyzed by mean, standard deviation, t-test dependent, t-test independent and content analysis.
The findings were as follows:
1. The English model focusing on task to enhance reading comprehension and analytical thinking skill for the twelfth grade students called The PRAE Model, it consisted of 4 parts: principle, objective, learning activities, and assessment. The components of this model consisted of 1) Preparation: P 2) Reading Tasks: R 3) Analysis Language: A 4) Evaluation: E. The efficiency of the PRAE Model was met criterion of 80.74/81.18
2. The effectiveness of the PRAE Model indicated that 2.1) after using the PRAE Model, the students’ reading comprehension were higher than before receiving the instruction at a .05 significance levels 2.2) the students who learning by using by the PRAE Model the students’ analytical thinking skills were increased from a moderate level to a high level.
3. The students’ satisfaction towards this English reading instructional model was at high level.
